Justice League: Twilight of the Gods, part 1 by Dkalban Justice League: Twilight of the Gods, part 1 by Dkalban
The Justice League has been defeated. All of them are near death or driven insane by the machinations of a shadowy group. It's up to a band of fellow heroes to find cures, and to discover who is behind the attacks.

In Part 1; we begin in media res, and find out who indeed is behind the attacks.

While the New 52 presently has a different lineup for the JL, I decided for this one at some point it reconfigured back into the original core seven, plus Shazam. Lex, of course, is driven out, likely due to his own devious actions that worked cross purpose to his claimed desire in wanting to do good.

And because I had recently watched Justice League: Doom, it gave me an opportunity to not only bring in the Legion of Doom, but in a form similar to the Superfriends cartoons I watched in syndication on Cartoon Network when I was a kid (they were, of course, episodes that had first premiered long before I was born).

This is NOT my take on something like the famous Tower of Babel storyline; the plans being spun by our villains are much more brutal for our heroes than simply stealing Batman's contingency plans and making them lethal (there is even a joke about it in here)

While my OC, Joseph Kane, is in this; he is only in a supporting role.

This is the first part of four, I hope you enjoy it.

Joseph Kane belongs to me.

Justice League, Legion of Doom, and all related characters belong to DC Comics

Okay before I begin critiquing this...why Robin Williams? Surely you go for Tom Hiddleston, I mean I laughed but I don't fully get it.
Now onto the meat of it all...you've done splendid work here my boy, a shocking beginning and a juicy story. The Joker looks like he's upped his game here and the result is something to behold and I can't wait to read more.
The prospect of a modern legion of Doom is brilliant, everyone likes an all villain team vs hero team and this looks like an excellent story which may match the likes of JL:Doom and such.
Very good work, Lex is diabolical and a Jokerized Despero is both scary and oddly funny.
Kudos old boy.

I like that we see more of a doctor side to to Joseph Kane. Reminds you he's not always Ronin
